I finally got round to picking up my proof of 1,309 Days Later today and was immediately struck by how much more of a book it looks like than my previous works. The cricket diaries were quite short so look more like pamphlets but this one is much more chunky:
However, the reason you get your book proofed before putting it on sale is to double check for any errors. I had a few issues that I wanted to sort such as page numbers appearing on the first few pages, having a non-standard header on each page and no spine. That was interesting, trying to get the position of that spot on, but I think I’ve managed it.
I’ve also made the chapter headings stand out a bit more and enclosed my end-of-season reviews in nice boxes.
All being well, in around a week or so, I should be ready for the book to go on sale – I’m looking at pricing it competitively at £4.99 – a bargain. Remember, by buying it you’ll be supporting Grantham Hockey Club as a cut of any profit made will be donated to the club.
Of course, if you can’t wait for the paperback, you can get the book for Kindle (£3.08) by clicking here.
